Ten million people miss out on £6 billion in disability benefits each year. Almost 1/3 of those who have had a claim refused, feel their claim was not fairly assessed.
Disability Living Allowance and Attendance Allowance are benefits paid to help disabled people meet their higher costs of living. They are not means-tested, are tax free, available to people in or out of work - and there are no restrictions on how the money is spent.
Thinking about claiming but don't know where to start?
Have you put off claiming because eligibility rules are complex and the claim-forms long and detailed? Have you made a claim and been refused, or stopped claiming and your condition has now got worse?
This guide will provide you with the information you need to make your claim with confidence. Written for disabled people considering making a claim, it is also an invaluable tool for professionals who advise disabled people.
