Secretary of State reports on the Disability Equality Duty

These reports, by the 11 Secretaries of State, each identify progress towards disability equality made by each Government department and where there are still issues to address.

Areas examined by the reports include:

Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform

• Measures to alleviate unfair treatment at work
• Measures to alleviate fuel poverty - Of the overall number of households in fuel poverty in England, around 80 per cent of them contain vulnerable people, which includes disabled people.

Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families

• Improvement of availability and access to good child care for disabled people and their families.

Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government

• Improvements to the disabled facilities grant.

Secretary of State for Culture Media and Sport

• Digital switchover help.

Secretary of State for Health

• Delivering personalised services for adult social care

Secretary of State for Transport

• Access to public transport
• Personal mobility and blue badge reform

Secretary of State for Work and Pensions

• National strategy for mental health and employment to bring employment and health services closer together
• Reduction of child poverty
• Reduction of pensioner poverty
