ESA stats - October 2008 to February 2010

The latest employment support allowance (ESA) statistics continue to indicate a low success rate for those claiming ESA. Between October 2008 and February 2010:

• 9 per cent have been assessed as Support Group cases
• 23 per cent have been assessed as Work Related Activity cases
• 68 per cent have been deemed Fit for Work

Between October 2008 and March 2009 28,000 appeals were heard,of which 61% were unsuccessful.
