Skill and the Disability Alliance worked together on an 18 month project which began in 2005 and was funded by Lloyds TSB Foundation for England and Wales.
The project was intended to provide a comprehensive service for disabled students and those working to support them, about benefit entitlement during periods of study. It brought together Skill’s expertise around student finance issues and Disability Alliance’s expertise around benefits and tax credits for disabled people and carers.

The project also developed a training course for advisers working with disabled students and prospective students in higher education as well as the development of web-based information, including Frequently Asked Questions.
The project ended in December 2006 but the services initiated using project funding continues. You can access these by going to the main disabled students project page.
