Between September 1997 and June 2005 Disability Advice provided expert independent benefit advice, on behalf of UK Sport, to individual performers on their options concerning benefits and Athlete Personal Awards (APA). Disabled athletes who were awarded Athlete Personal Awards had exclusive access to specialist welfare benefits advice via our UK Sport Helpline.
This project has now finished but we continue to offer a consultancy service to both UK sport and disabled athletes.
UK Sport focuses directly on high performance sport at the UK level, with the aim of achieving sporting excellence on the world stage. Their work is targeted towards developing and supporting a system capable of producing a constant flow of world class performers.
