""Cutting the Costs of Child Poverty Campaign

The TUC is calling on the Government to invest an extra £4 billion in the Child Tax Credit to help end child poverty.

As part of this campaign it has produced a report that aims to show that child poverty is a reality and that parents struggling to bring up their children in poverty are not to blame.

It argues that child poverty is a problem for everyone - the extra costs for society that child poverty causes work out at over £600 a year for every adult and child and that trade unionists can help end child poverty by campaigning for the Government to spend an extra £4 billion on benefits and tax credits for children.
